I know nothing about everything
I posted a link to SEP's updated entry on the Enlightenment on Monday. I'll be honest, I skimmed the entry, although even with careful reading I wouldn't have picked up on 90% of the reasons for this criticism. I consider it a wonderful example of why I need to get an(other) academic degree to supplement my various musical credentials. Three cheers for discourse!

qualunque cosa monday
Matisse at MOMA, but more interestingly--how do we look at art? Picasso and the Ballet Russes; Jessica Duchen on performance practice partially in response to this piece from Stephen Hough; Pretty picture from APOD; I'm not a Twitter-er, but this is kind of amazing (via Alex Ross); My primary area of interest from SEP; And speaking of the Enlightenment; This is incredible, and not just because I have a soft spot for antiquity; This is not a joke! More from APOD (I just like the pictures); Intrigue! Academic malfeasance @ Havard; YouTube find; I do like Dumas...but that is not really the point--the art market is mean.
